PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, December 17, 2025 – Bitget, the world’s largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has concluded its role as Official Partner of Cambodia’s inaugural LALIGA Youth Tournament, held December 6 – 7 at the AUPP Sports Centre. The landmark event brought together emerging football talent from across the country, marking the first time LALIGA’s youth competition framework has been hosted in Cambodia.

The two-day tournament, organized by Elite Soccer Coaching Cambodia, featured 16 top teams competing across U12 and U14 categories. Bitget’s participation reflects its broader global partnership with LALIGA and its ongoing commitment to empowering young people through sport, education, and access to opportunity—helping youth to “Make It Count” both on and off the field. The event concluded with Boeung Ket Soccer School taking the U12 title and Solito Familia emerging as the U14 winners.
Bitget’s CMO, Ignacio Aguirre, was in attendance in Phnom Penh and emphasized the importance of investing in rising talent in growth markets. “Events like this represent more than competition,” Ignacio said. “They create moments where young players discover confidence, teamwork, and ambition. Supporting the first LALIGA Youth Tournament in Cambodia is part of a wider goal to help unlock potential wherever it exists — whether through football, technology, or education.”

The tournament served as a cultural touchpoint for the wider community. Local advocates and digital creators, including Sovattey Sary (Miss World Cambodia 2021), as well as DLOW, Sis Abby, Zenn28, and storytellers Seng Hour, Sing Ny, Lee Xin, and Thekhrypto joined to celebrate the next generation and spotlight Cambodia’s growing presence in sports and digital culture. Their participation highlights the cultural importance of the event, bridging the worlds of sports and digital community to celebrate Cambodian youth.

The tournament represents a collaborative effort to raise the standard of youth football in the region. Iván Codina, Managing Director of LALIGA in Southeast Asia, noted, “I’m proud to bring the LALIGA Youth Tournament to Cambodia for the first time. We are dedicated to supporting grassroots football globally, and events like this strengthen local football and create opportunities for young talent.”
John McFarlane, General Manager of Elite Soccer Coaching Cambodia, added, “We’re honoured to host the inaugural tournament. With 16 teams competing over two days, this event gives young players a unique chance to test their skills, learn from each other, and showcase the depth of talent in Cambodia.”

Bitget’s involvement signals its continued interest in advancing real-world impact alongside global partnerships. As the Universal Exchange, Bitget continues to build connections between technology, culture, and community, ensuring its global footprint also contributes to local progress.
