Brad Edman appointed as Marriott International’s Market Vice President for Thailand, Cambodia & Myanmar

A highly skilled and experienced hospitality professional, Brad takes the latest step in his 26-year career journey with Marriott International

 

Bangkok, Thailand: August 7, 2024 Marriott International announced the appointment of Brad Edman to the position of Market Vice President for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in his successful 26-year career with the company.

Brad is a seasoned hospitality professional with a distinguished career with Marriott, which he joined in 1998 as Director of F&B Operations at the Melbourne Marriott Hotel and thereafter transitioned to becoming the hotel’s Director of Sales & Marketing. He expanded his career to Asia in 2006 as Area Director of Sales & Marketing for India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Maldives before moving on to Bangkok, overseeing sales & marketing for Southeast Asia. His commercial expertise and interpersonal skills led to his first General Manager role in 2013 at Courtyard by Marriott Seminyak Resort in Bali, where he earned accolades such as “General Manager of the Year – Asia Pacific” and “Diamond General Manager”. Brad subsequently opened Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, as General Manager. 

Since 2019, Brad has served as the General Manager for Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa and Multi-Property Vice President for Marriott International, Phuket. In 2023, his role expanded to include Marriott’s portfolio in Southern Thailand. Now, as Market Vice President for Thailand, Cambodia & Myanmar, Brad aims to strengthen the company’s commercial presence in these key markets, where the company currently operates 54 properties across 16 brands.

Throughout his impressive career, Brad has always strived to expand his knowledge with the latest industry trends and developments. Having completed Cornell University’s Executive Leadership course in 2017, he achieved a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Australia’s Southern Cross University in 2019, and graduated from Harvard Business School’s Driving Performance Program in 2021. Brad is currently based out of Bangkok, Thailand.
