Phnom Penh is an interesting city with a blend of traditional and cosmopolitan cultures alike.
Countless Coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants catering to international cuisines on one side;
and local Khmer food outlets, street food in all corners and the markets filled with vegetables, fruits, wide variety of fishes, seafood and pork, beef or chicken brushing those humble veggies on the other!
In between these are the hotels, speciality boutique hotels and resorts that cater to all classes of tourists. These boutique hotels provide an outsider, respite from the scorching heat and humidity of this part of the world.
THE PAVILION
So, when I went to ‘The Pavilion’ for the first time, I felt a sense of peace and calm; a quiet spot to think and write!
I remembered the ‘the thinking spot’ of the character Winnie the Pooh, that I read for my daughter.. I thought I found a thinking spot for myself!
The very natural environment with lots of green trees and plants with the sophistication of a swimming pool giving some cool breeze made the place special.
the greeneries
the swimming pool
and the bamboo cycles
The food available is very selective yet exclusive, fresh juices are available and the coffee is good to awaken a few interesting thoughts for blogging!

What attracts me here, is the simple yet earthy touch that is given to the ambiance of the resort. One can sit in without the slightest thought of the fast moving pace of the society outside – Truly a Tranquil Place.
One can also get de-stressed with the Spa Treatments available – which I have not tried.
This is one of my favorite Coffee Corners, away from the air conditioned coffee houses. That’s a luxury of its own kind; this one is tranquil nature unwounded!
The Pavilion is located at no. 227,Street 19, can be reached through the road opposite the Singapore Embassy, Phnom Penh. Their website is http://thepavilion.asia/
